The Marconi Automobile Club (MAC) marked its first anniversary with a formal dinner held at Club Marconi on Saturday, 27 June 2026. The evening brought together approximately sixty guests, including members, family and friends, in a warm and celebratory atmosphere.
Over the past year, the Club has cultivated a strong sense of community, offering a welcoming and inclusive environment for motoring enthusiasts and their families alike. Its activities have combined a passion for automotive culture with a spirit of friendship and togetherness.
Vice-Captain Sam Noiosi reflected on the Club’s foundation and ethos, stating: “The Marconi Automobile Club embodies the same values and spirit that inspired the founding members of Club Marconi, a place that is open, inclusive and welcoming to all.”
Since its establishment, the Club has organised a variety of outings across regional New South Wales, allowing members to experience some of the state’s most scenic landscapes. These excursions have been complemented by social events including dinners, luncheons, fruit-picking trips and “Show and Shine” car displays.
The Club has also demonstrated a commitment to community engagement, notably supporting Grandparents and Grandchildren’s Day. Captain Guy Zangari highlighted the broader significance of these activities: “Each outing has celebrated not only automotive engineering, but also the friendships that have developed among our members. Every event has inspired and uplifted participants, encouraging them to invite others and share in the warmth and hospitality that define our Club.”
The Club’s distinctive identity, including its logo and colours, has drawn considerable attention. Member Ennio Alfonsi expressed his pride: “I am deeply passionate about this Club and what it represents. Our colours and emblem are a meaningful tribute to our rich Italian motoring heritage.”
These elements were prominently featured during the evening, including on a specially designed anniversary cake that was ceremonially cut as part of the celebrations.
Rosa Fellowes also spoke of the Club’s inclusive spirit: “This evening has been a wonderful celebration of a community that brings together people of all ages and backgrounds. My husband Rob and I truly appreciate the Club and everything it has become.”
Looking ahead, the Marconi Automobile Club will continue its calendar of events, with its next gathering scheduled for a lunchtime drive to CSI Marconi Schofields on Sunday, 26 July 2026. Members will enjoy a traditional Italian lunch, further reinforcing the Club’s commitment to cultural heritage, camaraderie and the continued growth of its vibrant motoring community across New South Wales.
With enthusiasm, friendship and a shared passion for motoring at its heart, the Marconi Automobile Club looks forward to building on its first successful year and embracing future initiatives that will strengthen community engagement and participation.
