Homicide Squad notified after a man believed to be in his 30s was found with significant injuries on North Rocks Road

A man has died following a shooting in a public place at Carlingford, in Sydney’s north-west, on Wednesday morning.

Emergency services were called to North Rocks Road shortly after 7am on July 15 following reports that shots had been fired.

Victim found inside a vehicle

Officers from The Hills Police Area Command arrived and found a man believed to be in his 30s suffering significant injuries inside a car.

Despite efforts to save him, the man could not be revived and died at the scene.

He has not yet been formally identified.

Homicide investigation begins

Police have established a crime scene and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting.

The NSW Police Homicide Squad has been notified and is assisting with the investigation.

No arrests have been announced and police have not released information about a possible motive or suspect.

North Rocks Road closed

North Rocks Road remains closed while forensic officers examine the scene.

Members of the public and motorists have been urged to avoid the area and use alternative routes.
